Hood Scoop Air Flow Diverter

Ever since I added the ALTA Intercooler Diverter and the M7 RAM Scoop, it has bugged me that there is about an inch and a half of space between the bottom of the hood scoop and the front of the diverter. It bothered me that this air space was likely promoting turbulence and taking away from the efficiency of the combination of products. I have no scientific data to prove this but lots of other threads have suggested that the air coming up from below would interfere with air entering through the front. Walking around a building supply store a few days ago, I saw some black aluminum roof flashing that gave me an idea. After lots of measuring and trial-and- error, I fabricated the following piece..

Here's a pic of it on the car.

After looking at it with the bonnet closed, I realized that there was still some air getting by on the driver's side so I made up a piece to fill the space and tie into the extra long piece of rubber gasket I had added to the diverter. Here's a pic of the new piece added on.

It is connected with double sided tape on the bottom of the air diverter and fits into the gasket nice and tight so shouldn't go anywhere. I'll probably redo the whole thing and incorporate this piece into the design. With the bonnet closed, there is literally no air bypassing the intercooler or leaking in from any other direction. ANother member of MMMC suggested that I wrap the upper rad hose with insulation to prevent the front of the intercooler heating up from lack of air movement under the diverter plate. Any thoughts, suggestions?
