I want to paint my outside mirrors the color of the body.
I have seen the chrome covers for them as well.

But how do you remove the covers to paint them or replace them?
Anyone done this?

Let me know please.

If your "heavy handed" (like me!!) you will go buy new
ones ready!! I managed to break several clips, even after following
the instructions in a previous thread. Body coloured mirrors are THE way to go

The covers have little tabs that break easily when removing them.
I mangled mine pretty well when replacing them with the mirror caps (which look great on my dk slvr!). I'm not sure if my originals would hold firmly in place or not now.
But... it seems that with more finese one could ease them off intact, technicians do have to access the goods inside on occasion don't they?

That is what I though.
I saw the tabs on the chrome ones and knew it would be hard.
I guess I am going to have to buy the new ones just to be safe.

Mike, post the chrome pictures....I wanna see em!

By the way, did you see my roof and window?

I'll snap some pics.
Yes! I saw the posts with your roof and rear window Brandon. Looks absolutely fantastic! Sorry I didn't reply. I'm still torn about what to do on the sunroof. My wife suggests I create a surreal 3D render. I was thinking a clean vector design, but am working on the spousal idea. It's gotta be just the right colors and organic in style to work with the MINI curves!
