Debadged and Blacked out

Alright so I debadged the CooperS and blacked out the MINI wings. I also painted the rear control arms.

This is a huge help. just pry the wings off

The wings will leave holes. 2 in the back and 3 in the front like this

I masked off the MINI lettering

It's a great compliament in color with your MCS!

tigwantstoplay 05-12-2007 06:46 PM

Wow....nice job. I really like it on that color!

thlaxx 05-12-2007 06:53 PM

howd you put them back on?

RichardF 05-12-2007 06:58 PM

I like the look.
Now I have another item on the list of things to do. How will I ever get caught up.

familiarstranger 05-12-2007 06:59 PM

to take them off I used the sticker lifter in the first pic. It comes with some goo be gone that you can squirt on. then just pried it off with the given device. to put them back on I used some all purpose 3M adhesive

mcdbrendan 05-12-2007 07:00 PM

Looks great, now drop that 4X4!

familiarstranger 05-12-2007 07:05 PM

Thats the nezt step. Just not sure if i want to go with springs or coilovers. but I assure you i am dropping it!

roaduscarnivorous 05-12-2007 07:09 PM

that's a pretty niffty idea. think i'll paint mine white

familiarstranger 05-12-2007 07:16 PM

RUC, If you wanted to do some good masking work I think it would be really cool if you did the circle in white and then alternated the high and low parts of the wings in red and white. I dont know if that makes sense without looking. anyway post pics if and when you do!

Excellent job on the black badges, now how about that chrome around the taillights? And get rid of that chrome license frame.

familiarstranger 05-12-2007 08:28 PM

 thanks Robin! Chrome is number one on my hit list so all those things are going soon

thlaxx 05-12-2007 09:56 PM

is that matte black or glossy?

familiarstranger 05-12-2007 09:59 PM

diablito 05-13-2007 04:45 AM

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Looks Great!

FlyingSmiley 05-13-2007 06:19 AM

Did you use any primer on the wings or just the black?
Ive been trying to figgure out how to do this for a while.
Looks great !!

familiarstranger 05-13-2007 09:26 AM

I sanded them but no primer. I suggest Duplicolor's spray paint for plastics.

thlaxx 05-13-2007 09:37 AM

where did you get your googon kit, pep boys did not have it.

familiarstranger 05-13-2007 10:11 AM
