HVAC System - Shutting off air flow

This is going to sound dumb, but how do you turn off the heater / airflow in an '04 S?

Seems I always have air coming through my vents (at what ever the temperture was when the controls were turned off) even when I have shut down all the controls on the dash.

Short of manually shutting all the vents off, how do you shut off the airflow from the HVAC system so no air is flowing through?

i think re-circulate mode and put the fan speed to zero while your
hvac is still on. when you turn it off it (for some reason) lets warm air
into the cabin.

the warm air is possbily from the heater core. there is always some flow through the hvac system due to pressure differences and just for some ventilation. plus some of the heat from the core is going to radiate out.
most people dont know that most wind noise (whilstle) from the windows or doors is from air escaping from the cabin, not coming in.

if there is a lot of flow from the vents its possible the the intake door is not fully sealing and allowing more air to enter and flow through. you can find lots of examples of this on older cars.
