I was talking with a Mini dealer today about ordering a 2004 MCS. When we were going over the options I stated that I wanted to order the driving lights that are on the Miniusa site. The lights themselves go for $ 400.00. I thought the lights came installed if you ordered them. The dealer quoted me a price of $ 895.00 installed. Sure seems high to me. Anybody ordered the factory driving lights and could share the cost overall?? Thanks in advance.

I've heard of similar quotes before for the driving lights and most anything you add will have a dealer installation fee,you could do it yourself but I understand it's a little more involved that one might think and takes about 4-5 hours.

This question comes up from time and there is no definitive answer. Seems every dealer will charge what they want for rally lights.

I have the factory rally lights installed on my 02 MCS. The lights were $400 and installation was $199.

I’ve heard people mention dealers wanting as much as $1200.

Yep, I was given the same price. My MCS was off the floor. I asked if it could be removed, said they could but there was no one there to do it since it was on a Saturday. I live 225 miles from dealer so I decided to leave them on. In retrospect, I think it was a good move. The driving lights really enhance the look of my MCS.

$895 is on the high side. Installation is not included in the price quoted on the MINIUSA website. You might could find another dealer that will do it for around $600. Or, you can buy the lights from Classic BMW and install yourself (not an easy install).

I paid $600 installed for my lights.

See ya,
JS
