They were showing the first two episodes on the giant screen of the Fosgate MINI at the dealer's 2007 MINI launch event yesterday.
I thought the same thing about the scene you refer to.
I think it's part of Latka's nightly dream sequence but with whatever car he is thinking about that week (i.e. : Hakosuka, Subbie, Mini, etc.). 
{Edit : BTW - bad jonnie, you should add [Hawaii] in your thread title or everyone will look and wonder who the hell Latka is!
