MINI performance question...

i have a '06 MC with the CVT transmission. at lower speeds, the car seems to be jerky, kind of feels like the MINI is confused as to what gear to be in. i've adjusted my driving, and for the most part i no longer experience the jerkiness probably 80% of the time . just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions to get rid of that other 20% of the time.

also, a weird thing happened about 3 weeks ago as i was driving toward hawaii kai. i was rolling at probably about 5-10 mph. the engine just died and the engine service indicator blinked on for like 2 seconds , and then it came back. i don't know if it was a "stall" because i didn't have to restart the car for it to get better. anyone experience something like this?

is it worth bringing the my MINI back to the dealer to check things out? i haven't had any other significant problems since this indicent 3 weeks ago.

Yea Me an the wife too!

I had the same problem the only thing is, it's my wifes cooper S 06.
We brought it back to mini ( the problem occured while I was driving downhill sucker just went limp an coasted under low power say 1-5 mph the EML an service light went on blinking ) Mini just reset the OBD computer an sent us on our way, BUT!!! it hapened yesterday to the wife, so Mini picked it up today, and will be dropping it off tonight I assume They say something about replacing a sensor??? I would figure that most bugs would be worked out on a 3+ year production run , but oh well such is life... I suggest you bring yours in to get it checked ( always better to be safe an sound ), by the way they called the engine stalling thing Safe Mode, but I told Mini that at freeway/highway speed alone the so called safe mode would actually be "potential accident mode or worse " Take it easy, but her auto 6spd behaves in such a way as your cvt, (rough on the edges with it's auto shifting but fun for the wife)
