Hawaii roll call...
Just checking to see if there are any new Hawaii MINI motorers out there. I know there are a few lurkers here. I would like to put together an island cruise or maybe just an informal gathering in a parking lot somewhere. Who's with me on that?

That's a nice ride, but not a MINI. But at least you have turned away from the dark side!
And in my book, having a MINI on order is close enough to be part of the family! I hope you'll join us if we can ever stir up some interest in a gathering out here...

Some people ask me, and the answer is rather simple: I paid cash for my MINI, and I couldn't afford the extra $3K. Plus, I think the Cooper looks better than the S, with the exception of the chrome gas cap, which I've added to my Cooper. Yes, I would've liked to have the supercharger and the 6-speed tranny, but I haven't had any less fun without them. The Cooper in itself is a great car!
Yes, I could've taken out a loan for the extra money, but I'm no professional racer anyway. I actually plan on buying the S when the new body style comes out in 2005 (providing of course BMW doesn't screw things up...), so that I'll have one of each style, and one of each performance level.
In the end though, it comes down to one maxim: To each his own...

Welcome! I'm always happy to see new Hawaiian MINI motorers checking in! Eventually, maybe we'll be able to put together a cruise/car show to get to know one another and have some MINI fun! We all know the looks we get on a regular basis (still!). Imagine the looks we'd get with a caravan of MINIs! Keep on motoring!

BTW, I ran into my first classic Mini on the island the other day. I parked next to him, and we were cheking out each other's rides. What a fun time, talking about our passion for our cars. There was a mutual respect among us, like we both "get it".

Aloha , been driving around with my MCS for 3 months and I've never had a car that has gotten so much attention. Went to grab a late night snack at Wendy's Kapolei and they had a car gathering over there with streed rods and mega tricked out rods, went driving through the parking lot (they had it roped off) and people was complementing the mini and a lot of smiles toward my direction. Got hooked on the mini about 15 years ago while on a trip to New Zealand, friend had an old school cooper s and lend it to me to get around, one week with that was all I needed. Tried getting one over for a long time but no mechanics, and no easy access to parts kept me from that, still thinking though.
The MC has status code 150....guess I should check in. MINI of Hawaii and owners' lounge has conflicting delivary dates so hoping in March/April(hopefully sooner). Been lurking for awhile but now MINIhune is being built, it's one step closer to having her home. Once the MINI is here, definitely want a get together and check out the MINI Ohana. Motor on 'til then!
Hey all, own a dark silverand white top with sun roof, MINI Cooper S. I entered mine in past car show import revolution Dec. 21, 2002. Anyone who owns an S having problems with their coolant container leaking? Replaced mine three times already.
Talked to AKA, assistant manager at BMW of Honolulu, said that three should be at 3-4 MINIS on Big Island. Anyone interested in having a MINI cruise around the island if so...let's set up our first MINI meeting. Eh, Moss Mini skid plate worth investing in. Stock plastic piece is junk, protects nothing...jus da front
