I see on various sites a BMW Technical CD that is supposed to have parts as well as service and repair information. Has anyone purchased one of these? Does it tell you how to service as well as R&R of different parts on the car? I would like to have this type of reference, but the price has been from $200 to $500. These are supposed to be BMW factory manual CD's.

I have those CDs and the are great in identifying the parts you need for your car with parts numbers. The factory manual is great as it shows step by step procedures to determine the problem with your vehicle and how to reapir the problem.

Where'd u get those beast? Everytime a thread comes up on this I hear that they end up being the $30 ones you get at a book store, or that they dont sell the real thing.

I got it on Ebay for @ $30. It's for my BMW, but they should have one available for the MINI.

On Ebay I was searching for another manual for a motorcycle and found similar items in the $25 to 30 range for CD versions of service manuals. But these are not by the original manufactorer. It might take time before reasonably priced service CDs will appear for the MINI. Try out of US sources. Maybe Google.com for the UK and search for Ebay stuff. Cheers.

Actually, you would have to get the BMW ETK. This covers the entire BMW range and has the MINIs included under the R50 and R53 sections. The sellers usually have the 3 pack with the ETK, TIS and KSD. They are the parts manual, technical information system and labor rate guide, respectively.

Here is a sample. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2432675178
