Yes and no. Yes, we can have this type of races with SCCA SOLO I or wheel to wheel. No, as there aren't that many participants here.

===>>> Thanks a lot, The_Beastmaster! Obviously, the consequences are quite expensive ... Have you raced in this format in the past?

Sorry, only raced in Solo II 20 years ago. However, I may return to Solo II later this year.

From: 4 car lengths ahead of you!
they do have it, but it is a "race" timed and drivers code as far as who covers damages. very costly to enter as your car needs a lot of requirements that you normally wouldn't use like a firesuit, cage or bar?, extinguisher, others and license. i would only do it with a dedicated car. start off with the solo2 and then if you feel the need for excessive speed, then go to the day at the track or bmwcca days. all i can say for this is that i would highly recommend mini-t and others go through at least 3 solo2's before i would say it is safe/ready to hit the full/short track even if it is only a "drivers event".

The Blue MINI is Tony Nuzzo (or Shane Lewis) in the Nuzzo Motorsports STII MINI.
The dark silver car is the STII MINI from Sterling MINI in Virginia.

The Sterling car finished better, but the NMS MINI had the fastest lap in practice but had problems in the race. (Shane Lewis driving too...)

I actually get to run on Fridays before the Driving Schools. We usually spend a couple of hours out there to get the instructors acquainted with the track and some runs for myself. I am seriously down on track time and my skills are rREALLY rusty, but it would be fun to run against Latka. Maybe when my 6er is finished I can run against him. I'll run the 6er as it is the lowest hp car that I have. The other 2 Bimmers are pushing 300hp+. The 6er in stock form puts out only 218hp in a 3500lb chassis. Bring the MCS and it'll be pretty even.

Battle of the Pants. That's a funny one!
Battle of MINI of Hawaii? You missed Esoteric.

Beast,

Sounds like fun. Shall we pencil in the duel for the next BMW / MINI club event at the track?

Hmm...going to have to save up for some nice sticky tires for the tracky track

Then again, when (not if!) I do my Monster Mini project I should be able to run with the 300hp cars. Muhahahaha...
