GP Wheels ?

Anyone know of a source aside from Mini, and www.ebay.co.uk for these wheels? Also what size tire do they come with stock? Thanks!

If you do not have a GP, I believe it will be difficult to buy wheels from Mini. I also believe the ebay ones are knock-offs, not OEM wheels. I am thinking of selling my GP Wheels/Tires to go with a different wheel and tire setup. The GP Wheels are still perfect and the tires have 3500 miles. What price would you be interested in paying for the set of four wheels/tires (stock 205/40-18 runflats). It would have to be at least $3,600 plus shipping before I would be interested.

I have looked and looked for a US source of the GP knock offs. I have emailed the individuals who sell them and shipping to the US comes to about $350. With the price of the $ to the GBP it makes it really expensive. Still less than half of above though, even with tires. The biggest problem is that the company who sells them will not take CC. Only a direct bank draft.

Oh, and they have 17" replicas which IMHO look much better. The mini is just too small of a car for an 18" wheel. 17" is already large.

And a little heavy for a performance wheel.

a mate of mine bought the GP replicas that are on ebay and the finish on the was nowhere near as good as the oem GP rims and there are quite a bit heavier i think as the GP rims are among the lightest oem rims at 9kg per corner

I found the part number for the OEM wheel, 36116774581, now I just need to find the website that lists prices.

K H D if you are serious about getting the ebay ones, I have could help you out with shipping from over here. Where did you see the 17" ones?

This individual WAS selling them.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...DME:B:AAQ:UK:1

Now you can't find them on ebay anymore.

There was also a shop called Rockford Tyres which used to have them on the website but I can't seem to find them on their site now.

If I could find them for a not terribly overpriced rate and shipping was not more than an individual rim then I would be very serious. I appreciate your help. How much do you think it would cost to ship?

Kenny

ignote,

that is a good find. Unfortunately still out of my price range. As much as I love the GP style if I am going to get up over $1000 for a set of wheels I think a set of palo uber forged wheels would serve me best.

Great find,
K

Besides price, another factor with the GP wheels is their width, offset, and size. I'd prefer a 7.5" width, the GP wheel is 7" wide. I'd prefer the wheels to not be so "tucked in" the wheel wells, the GP wheels are really tucked in (high offset). And, the tire selection is limited for this particular wheel size. So, in my case, I went with 17x7.5 in +42 offset ... lots of tire choices, and they "fit" the car better (in my opinion). Of course, plenty of people say the GP wheels are great just like they are. Mine, are stacked in the garage, I plan to keep them, of course, since they came with the GP, it seems the right thing to do. Good luck on your new wheel choice!

Pelican parts shows the OEM wheel for $1516 with free shipping. I`m pretty sure I can get tires for less than $2084, if I decided to go that route.

Hey, the reason for my price was based on $600 each for wheels, that I want to get, and the stock runflat cost $300 each. I never said it was a good price, just what I would be willing to sell the GP wheels/tires.

I also do not think you will be able to obtain the wheels from Pelican.

I have not personally tried to obtain GP Wheels but from the two GP Forums that I read, people with GPs that have wanted to obtain replacement or spare wheels have had a difficult time obtaining the wheels. The only people that I have heard of obtaining GP Wheels have been through Mini dealerships with proof of GP ownership such as a GP VIN. It would make a lot of people happy if the OEM GP wheels are available through other sources such as Pelican. Let us know if actually available through someplace such as Pelican.

Found the 17" wheels on ebay.co.uk, emailed the guy, asking if he will sell the wheels seperately from the tires. He said "YES AT £350 DEL
STEVE", hes asking 480 for them with tires (non-run flats).

MINI won't sell GP parts unless you can prove ownership of a GP, so if you want to go through MINI you have to find a friend with a GP to 'buy them' for you.

I bought 2 spare GP wheels from the dealer and paid about $560 for 2 of them. They did ask me for my VIN number to be able to buy them though. For now I'm just using them to decorate my garage. Hopefully I'll never need them for anything other than just that.

Hey Guys..I have a chili red/black r56 s and would really love to retrofit some gp wheels onto my car. Does anyone know if the gp wheels will fit on the r56? Also, are there any nice GP owners in the Houston area who could order me some replacement GP wheels?

Actually, at 19.8 lbs each, they aren't so bad for an 18" wheel. That's lighter than all of the OEM 17" wheels!

Have you tried? Im pretty sure you still need a VIN number to order a wheel.
