My brother has a 550 replica. Beautiful and fast! My first words when I saw it were, "Put me in your will." His words, "I'm being buried in the 550. Forget about it."

GusMiami, beautiful cars and beautiful garage. College life doesn't quite offer those luxuries...

I so want to get out in my garage now and get it cleaned like that. Now all the normal stuff that goes in a garage... do you have a shed you store it all in? I just cant imagine where I would put all my stuff.
LOL.....I never saw myself as a garage consultant, but hey if you were here in Miami I would be happy to help out.
And yes I do have a shed. I'm having it cleaned out this wekeend in order to make room for more stuff. A (organized) shed is a great investment if u ask me. So as your newly appointed garage consultant I say, "BUY ONE"

PS: The garage gets a new paint job next week

I understand that MC2 magazine is going to do some features on MINI garages, you ought to submit yours. I'll bet they would love to do an article on yours.
Thanks for the compliments. I included here some pics of what's actually IN the garage so maybe that helps too.
One thing I forgot to mention was the air conditioner that I have in there. I was originally going to have air vents put in (off the main unit), but that wouldn't have done much more than make my AC work harder to cool the HOUSE itself. So I had a "mini-split" AC unit installed. This is basically like a central AC unit in that it has the compressor outside the house. This means all they have to do to install it is drill a hole big enough for the compressor hose and run that to the outside where the compressor unit is. This obviously makes for a nice, quiet AC on the inside. I paid something like $900-$1000 for that unit. The cabinets are from Gladiator Garageworks. Not necessarily cheap, but not the most expensive either.

Other than the AC and cabinets (and the cars), there are a lot of inexpensive things you can put in a garage to make it functional. Like the air-compressor. I had a husky portable compressor (approx $100), so I just bought a husky retractable hose reel at Home Depot (approx. $45) and mounted it to the wall. Click here for some on Amazon. I did the same with that Vacuum. I mean, that thing costs $85!!! Check it out here

For xmas, my girlfriend bought me a bunch of stuff that I had circled in the Griot's Garage catalog (Stool, "Oil Rag Can" with vintage sticker (I use for wash towels), detailing cart, wash bucket, extension cord reel, parking stoppers, wall bumpers). And I just bought these wall hangers for the wheels.

The Banners were pretty easy to do as well. Just go on eBay and you'll find plenty available. Click here to see what they have on there Get some wood, make some square frames and just stretch and staple the banner to the back of the frame. Makes a big difference (just look at the pictures and see the "mini" banner as opposed to the "champion motorsport" banner.

The Floor was SUPER easy to install. The tiles just snap together. They can also be cut, but I wasn't crazy about that idea (wouldn't look symetrical).

Btw, I don't mind the questions.

Robino, I would definitely do the floor. Especially for what it would cost to do that. Click HERE for ideas, but you can buy them HERE

gusmiami,

You're at it again...

I caught you the first time you posted and teased you for having way too much time and $$$ to be stashing a GP and Z4 M in the stable.

You were coined the gigolo back then and I think you're confirming to us here again

Sweet garage though

I notice you have a couple of extra GP rims. How hard was it to get those from the dealership? I need to do the same. I want a spare + another for in case I damage a rim (... ya never know).

Anyway, let us know.

I'm not so sure my GF would agree with the gigolo part , but......
Anyway, I didn't have that hard a time getting the spare wheels. I just had to give/show them my VIN number to prove ownership of the car, then wait about a week to get them in. If you do get them, I recommend getting these wheel hangers from Griots to hang/display them (click the picture to see them).

Once I get my garage painted, I'll put those up and post pics.

I think this might be next for me. Maybe keep the 2 tone, but paint it Thunder-Blue Metalic and RED. What do you think?
