With the flywheel mod, would any work be required to adjust the computer? In other words, would there be any dependies for correctly carrying this mod. Or is just a simple bolt on job?

Someone noted that removing the jacking kit will save 20#.

I don't know about standard delivery GP's, but the early delivery GP's came without the kit--so I'm already 20# ahead of the game.

right ! and........don't forget that lightweight 12 v motorcycle battery! -oops, that was already brought up.

oh, and dip all the body in acid (after you strip everything out of it) to thin out the metal as much as possible! Then you put all your interior that you want - maybe not extra seat and carpeting - and power train back in. (jk,jk) lots o luck!

I think I will keep mine as-is in these terms.

Suprised noone mentioned it already, but if you chew your tires up to just above the wear bars it oought to cut down on some rotational mass., cut the exausht at the muffler, the tips are just for show.

Anyone have the weights comparing the exhaust system from JCW vs. a Borla or Alta? Any power gain comparisons?

Has anyone removed the armrests from the MINI?
When I removed my JCW exhaust to replace with a Milltek. I weighed them both and the Milltek only came in at 3lbs less.

What about control arms or H-sport comp swaybar? I beleive those weigh a few pounds less than stock and besides the weight loss you will gain a little better in the suspension department.

Theres not THAT much stuff that can be taken off/lightened on a MINI and still keep it a nice car.

Control arms are already supposed to be lighter from the factory. Swap the seats sor some fixed back racing ones.

i got a better idea, just add a hefty turbo, say...a Garrett GT3071 should do the trick, weight will mean nothing once you do.
