GP Center Gauges

Hey all, when I was @ MTTS, I saw some GP's with the temp/fuel gauges light up the level meaning the temp and the amount of fuel, not the needles. Well, one of our club members owns one and her gauges have needles like other MINI's. Am I imagining things or do others have this as well. Now, this was a MINI USA GP that had these light up gauges.

Never heard of or seen such a thing.
Are you sure it wasn't some aftermarket mod to a non-GP?

It was on one of the MINI USA GP's, so I doubt they would mod it. Darn, I should've taken a pic , but I thought it was just a GP thing. It was in the group the the FBR Team was driving. They were reporters, a man and woman, kinda young.

Yes, I saw Jeremy post it. When I looked at it, I was suprised to see the "needles", so I figured I would make this thread.

I wonder if you simply saw the car when it was off:

On all MINIs the needles are "parked" below the dials until the car is turned on.
Additionally the GP has much bigger "markers" for the dial range and you might have thought they were actual indicators - but they're just illumination.
