BMW MINI promo video: "Mini R53 Cooper S John Cooper Works GP Kit"

Stumbled on Gapi M's (Spain?) YouTube channel last night which contains a treasure trove cache of vehicle brand videos, including a very lengthy list of Classic Mini / New MINI promotional videos. This one jumped out at me in particular, not seen by me before and seemingly unlikely by most others here based on the low viewer count and no comments posted. The subject GP notably is 0001 of 2000. Enjoy!

I've seen it before, but it's one of my favorites!

Thanks for sharing here!

Love the ambient noise of birdsong et cetera.

Odd how triple zero one came with a silver JCW i/c cover instead of the usual black as usually found on the GP.

One day I might break down and buy myself a copy of The Bertone Collection book because I know it has an entry for the GP, but haven't ever been able to see it online or anywhere, likely just a brief footnote on how it was the last car?

You can however,
find pics of the GP (what number?) that is actually in the Bertone collection,
unsure though if the museum is still up and running?

^^^ As an old Alfa enthusiast (old guy enthusiastic about old Alfa Romeos), unsure that a 2006 GP example truly suited inclusion in the Bertone collection? Considerations on that WRT being neither styled nor coach-built by Bertone but instead "bodies-in-white" shipped to Bertone for paint and final assembly. Um, what might Frank Stephenson say? Regardless, curious what became of that one and whether that was a production or pre-production unit.

None of that is meant to diminish the GP's goodness in any way but to reflect on reported reasons Bertone was involved at all as outlined in these period era Motoring File articles: Rumors Behind The JCW GP and GP Manufacturer Bertone In Bankruptcy

I agree that it's certainly not disegno by Stile Bertone (design house), but it was the last production vehicle assembled by the Carrozzeria Bertone (factory) so I guess that they warranted it inclusion on those grounds?
