Jack Points

I would appreciate advice regarding recommended jack points to raise my '06 GP to mount winter tires and wheels. In other words, are there specific jack points aside from using the plastic extension blocks location? Thx

If you put a jack under the front block, it will lift the whole side of the car up.

As stated above, jack up one side at the front jacking point. Then place a jackstand under the same side rear jacking point. (I use a homemade pad on my jackstand that goes into the pocket of the jacking point. This is important since the GP rocker panel could otherwise be damaged*). Before lowering the jack, I place another jackstand inboard and slightly forward on the subframe rail. (Be sure you're not on the lower control arm!) Then lower the jack and repeat on the other side. Lowering is just reversing the process.
*It's o.k. to use on a low-profile jack but don't use the MINI-supplied orange jacking block on top of the jackstand. It may not be stable and will most certainly raise up the vehicle too high.
