Need help purchasing new wheels

I have owned my GP since it had 16 miles on the odometer (now at 47K) and absolutely love the car! My only problem are the ever increasing amount of potholes here in the DC Metro area....the recent snow did not help as a large number of new potholes have appeared. I have already replaced two wheels and may have to replace a third. So....I want to replace my wheels with a set of 16''s (for road noise issues and a softer ride) but I need help determining what size will fit over the JCW brakes. Here is what I know: the front discs are 294mm, the wheel offset (I believe) is ET52 and the bolt pattern is M14x1.25 (I know I may have to purchase the TSW bolt adapters).

Based on this, will the Kazera KZ-X (on tirerack.com) fit? The Kazera specs are:

Offset: 40mm
Backspacing: 5.62" Bolt Pattern: 4-100
Rec. Tire Size: 195/55-16 (I will probably use 205/40-16 or 215/45-16, not sure yet)

The weight difference is 17.4lbs vs. 19.8lbs so I lose 2.4lbs per corner!

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Scrumpy,

Contact Tire Rack (Alex). He is VERY familiar with the GP and such. He helped me with my OZ rims and Dunlop snow tires for my GP a couple of years ago. My Tire Rack experience was A+. The tires came mounted and balanced.....my dealer charges me only $25 to swap the sets out each season. Tire Rack has LOTS of choices!

I am certain other GP'rs will chime in here that know the detailed answers to your questions!

Good luck!

I have the same brake set up and suspension you have in my modded 03.

I ran 16x7 with 36 et and had plenty of room - I had 195/55/16 tires but you could run up to 225/50/16 with out any issues at all. Some of that has to do with the "style" of the rim as well. These are Enkei ES-6's.

I love Tire Rack, because they have fantastic products and excellent customer service, that said, when you order this combination/set based upon your application, your order will be red flagged and a subsequent phone call will be made to you. And to their credit, they will express concerns as to fitment ect., to your GP - mostly because you can test fit their new tires/rims, but soon as you actually drive on them, they are not returnable. Basically would rather err on the side of caution when selling their products....a good trait in my book.

Someday I hope to slap on a set of 15"x8" rims with 15 + et

The GP shares the same calipers, rotors and pads as the stock 2007-up R56 MCS if that helps any.

Those Kazeras look nice but Tire Rack only has 3 left?
Flynscot1772 are very sweet wheels (14.3lbs) with with 215/45 rubber for your protection.
Also nice in 16s are O.Z. Ultraleggera and Enkei Racing RPF1
If you go 16s definitely go with 215/45-16 for summer and 205/45-16 for winter, that extra rubber will protect you from potholes.
