Is thre going to be any type of mini presence at the Carlisle import show in May? I want to go with some friends (Saab guys) but also wanted to know if anyone from the Mini world was going?

 

I would think of going but don't think I could stand the Honda/Acura/overall ricer crowd out there. If I don't like selling them parts I can't see how I would want to hang out with them.

 

Ricer crowd? I think you're confusing this with the other show they don't do any more. It was called the Performance and sound or something. The town ran that one off. Too much mayhem and noise.

This one is pretty tame and I'm afraid smaller than the Corvette, or Spring/Summer/Fall etc.

The largest groups at this one are the Swedes. Volve and Saab have the most people show up. All others are spotty by comparison.

Lots of vendors with tools and stuff. LOTS of diecast. The diecast guys vary what they bring based on the show and you see more imports, F1, Lemans, etc models at this show than any others.

I enjoy it though and I WILL be again this year.

Oh, lots of kit and replica stuff too.

 

I was considering this, but after hearing how 'fast and furious' the overall crowd was, I decided against it.

Edit: I had the event mistaken with the one mmaterella said was phased out.

Maybe there is hope after all.

Looking at the event list and details, it actually looks pretty sweet. Maybe I'll check it out on Saturday when I have off.

Volvo is the featured marque for the import/kit show this year so there should A LOTof swede's there.
