And they claim over $70,000 invested. They don't even have that many pics of it. Just their specific mods. IMO even a die-hard MINI lover would rather spend $70k on a brand new 650i or Cayman.

From the ad:

"Alpine flip out touch screen radio with Playstation 2 hooded up."

Typo or Freudian slip

I'd really love to know where the $70k figure came from. Since the car is a JCW and has navigation, let's be generous and say $35k for the car. The subwoofer is a JL Audio 10W7 (about $375), and the amps are a pair of JL Audio units, probably a 500/1 and a 300/4 (about $350 each). I can't tell what the model of the Alpine head unit is, but it can't be much more than $1000. It's probably not one of Alpine's navigation models, since the car already has nav.

I don't know how much the headrest TVs or the PS2 cost, but unless there are some other super-expensive mods that he failed to mention, he's either lying through his teeth or he got a**raped on the labour charges for the installation and he's trying to make it up by selling the car for $40k.

And it's not even up for auction! It's a buy now only deal. Good luck with that one sparky!

Somehow I just can't get behind Pimping a MC! I am thinking...what the heck was this guy's motive for screwing up a perfectly good track car?

Maybe they were going for the 60's Lotus look, weren't some of their factory racers in approximately those colors?

Yes, the factory Lotus racing colors were BRG (not the green BMW uses) with a yellow stripe up the middle. This thing doesn't come close.
