My daughter carved this:

I suggested 2 saguaros, but cutting one was too much work.

Used my cookie cutter for a pattern.

I wanted to do a roadkill snake spirit rattlelantern.

Chpsk8,
Did you dig out the circle around the Mini from the inside working towards the outside, or from the outside working towards the inside? (and what did you use) - I was working on mine tonight but I'm not completely happen w/ the amt of light shining thru..

I carved out everything with an exacto knife and a small fruit and veg knife. Then I used one of those cheesy Target brand Halloween kit saws to just drill out the holes for the headlights and foglights. All that was from the outside.
I was using an ice cream scoop to thin out the walls of the pumpkin so more light would shine through when I broke through the underside of the car. That part wasn't in the plan, but it helped vent the candle, so all is well.

Carved Our MINI Pumpkin tonight

Thanks for posting the template. I cannot remember the last time I carved a pumpkin. This was pretty fun. Our son, Mr "All things Mini" insisted on a Mini pumpkin.Carving a MINI Pumpkin-img_0984_1.jpg

PuppetMaster - I love that your MINI is all dressed for Halloween. . . even if that's how it always looks.

Got mine finished will post it up later tonight. I never thought about just scratching out the design. I actually cut out the Mini, it lasted a whole 24 hours before collapsing on itself. I need to learn this new skool technique you guys have demonstrated.

My MINIlantern

Too late for me to post this?:impatient
I just incised the badge, cut through the MINI. Added 4 holes in the top like lug nuts, the bottom was cut off. This was one of those little pumkins at the grocery store with the face decals already applied (hardly any left yesterday), used the back.

Sweet work!

Funny thing with mine. We ran out of candy two hours in so we shut off the lights and watched a movie. I went to work this morning and of course the greedy little ba$....s smashed the pumpkins in the driveway... funny thing was that they left the Mini pumpkin and only took the other two.
reSPect!!

Nice pumpkin! I hope Tesla is able to stay afloat long enough for you to take delivery. It's gotta be hard for a small mfr. to survive in this market.
