Put your name on the map!
Mike I'm jealous I was just out in San Fran this past weekend and fell in love. You guys got some crazy bums compared to Chicago though...
Anyways for now it looks like I'm the only one rocking out in the Chicagoland area...

Tried putting apin on the Frappr map lately? Not having any luck connecting? Here's why.
In 2007 Platial purchased Frappr. On Feb 27, 2010 Platial announced that it was "shutting up shop". Here's the blog post.

This means that the old www.frappr.com/motoringfile map is gone from what I can tell. I'm guessing that it's too late for the owners of the map (MotoringFile ?) to download the contents as Platial suggests.
An alternative to Frappr is http://www.zeemaps.com/ Might I propose that the NAM administrators setup a MINI map there for us to populate?

While there are a number of options out there that require admin install and support; it would also prevent NAM from being able to keep current with updates, we are already lacking severely behind, due in part to drivethruonline scripts as well as others that have been installed and need to be re-written before we can upgrade, and with those problems it would not be beneficial to make people need to A, restart every time we update or B, hold up site progress and create significant technical support for the whole community issues through adding more scripts, for a relatively small portion of users, that delay site progress.
If you find something similar to Frappr that another company, I'd be happy to update the first post here and keep this thread going.
