Does your MINI have a name?

You've obviously become a drone of the Madison Ave. consumer marketing mind set and have yet to experience the twistys as they are meant to be driven. Too bad about the SC, you'll never know.

My MINI is named Sir Cedric.
That was my nick name given to me by my late father. It originated from an English actor Sir Cedric Webster Hardwicke KBE . How he related me to that I'll never know.

Kid Charlemagne. Of Steely Dan fame. Originally, I threw the name Pepper at my Pepper White MC, but it just wasn't working. About a month ago I decided to start my quest for my MINI's real name and with help on another board decided on a pair of song titles that I really liked - but I couldn't decide between them. The other song - Bennie & the Jets so along with 567 other titles and Kid Charlemagne, I hit shuffle on the iPod.
It took just over 200 songs before Kid Charlemagne came up first - and wouldn't you know I was one stoplight away my favorite local twisty!

When I was playing around with the MINI configurator online I saved a Dark Silver one as "DS". Later on I showed it to my wife and she asked if I had a name for it already, I glanced at the saved name and picture and the name "Douglas" popped into my head. Hence Douglas was born and has been a happy member of the family for a whole week!

It was over a week after getting my '10 PW/B MCS after having traded-in my BRG/S Cooper Clubman that a name was inspired. I thought if I ever got a PW MINI that it would be Iron Man's woman, "Pepper Potts" but it didn't fit on such a masculine vehicle. I then motored in the Gila National Forest in New Mexico. It was a beautiful day, very few other vehicles, nothing but twisties and steep hill climbs/descents. Where my Cooper huffed and puffed up the mountains, this MCS was like a "monster" eating up everything I threw before it. So..being in the Gila NF on such a beautiful day with my new monster which has similar stripes and colorations as some gila monsters, the inspiration took hold!

At first I thought it was silly to name your car, but everyone does it, since my wife is the primary driver the task was hers to come up with a name, she chose Mrs. Emma Peele . For those who do know, Mrs Peele and John Stead were characters in the Avergers. Mrs Emma Peele was very hot,hot - hot

I actually changed my MINI's name. About 2 months ago I got in a fender bender. One of my fellow MINI friends told me that I should watch or I would become a crash test dummy and it dawned on me to name my MINI "Vince" as in the first crash test dummies from the commercials of the late 80s early 90s.

Zazu
We always name our cars. So when I got a Horizon Blue MINI that has multi-colored ambient lighting for the interior, I began thinking of an appropriate Disney Character. I came up with Zazu, the Lion King's Majordomo (voiced by Rowan Atkinson). He's blue and has a multi-colored beak. Plus he's very lovable. Perfect name!
The MINI prior to Zazu was named Mickey--he was red with a white roof, mirrors and stripes, and black tires and trim.
