I thought about getting a carbon fiber scoop but I'm not sure how it would look with my stripes.
Ouch...hope it turns out well.
I just bought another hood scoop off eBay and I plan on painting it black. Although I'm not sure if I'll try to paint it myself or have a body shop do it. Depends what they charge. I will post pictures when it's done.
WOW!! Sorry about your car's bad luck my friend... Of course, the Atlanta Tornado made big news around the world for its freakishness... I hope you and yours made it through safely... MINIs can be repaired but sometimes loved ones can't be... so if your family and friends made it through with out any problems.. then I think you were very lucky!! All will be well in a few weeks hang-in-there!!

Can't wait.

New Cargo hauling unit
Just thought I'd let you mini owners know that there is a new cargo trailer in production to be available sometime in 2008. Called the Tow-N-Stow, it is designed specifically for small autos and weighs a mere 325lbs dry and has the capacity to haul 1/2 ton and 50 cu. ft. of cargo. See following post below;

Kind of like having a pick-up truck capacity with a cap without the truck! I am the inventor and also love minis. I do not have one yet but plan to some day, In the meantime. I wish to recruit one of you guys or gals that have a hitch to report to me for the testing of this product and I will reward you with a discount towards it's purchase. Also I wish to upgrade the products web site with a keen photo of a mini hauling the trailer with a couple of bicycles on the outer accessory rack. The features are too many to post however the main benefit is in its ability to convert into a outdoor storage unit in one minute and it takes up less than 15 sq. ft. footprint when converted into storage mode. Now you have the best of both worlds, extra hauling capacity and secure storage for household items when the trailer is not needed. Suitable for residential areas. See www.tow-n-stow for more information. Send a reply on the site's email I'd love to hear your comments. Soon will be a survey on the site that will tell us what you folks are thinking about it so we might use the data to improve development and show buyers at Home Depot and elsewhere that a market exists. Plans are for a smaller rated unit later on in development, but this first model
should be most popular as it is big enough to haul 4' wide sheet goods.

I'm surprised it wasn't totalled. I thought around 70% of a vehicles value was considered a total... I think that's just rediculous. How much was damaged? It just looks like windows and some paint...
Gravel chipped everything in its way including all trim, all glass, headlights, tail lights, sunroof, inside door panel and quarter panel, dash, wheels, etc. Debris dented the entire right side, boot, bonnet, etc. The parts really add up, and then you stack all that labor to replace everything and repair the dents, you wind up with a seemingly outrageous total. As for totalling it... I thought so too, but since there was no structural damage, the cost would have to have been closer to $15k for them to total it.
