General MINI TalkShared experiences, motoring minutes, and other general MINI-related discussion that applies to all MINIs, regardless of model, year or trim.
I had wanted a new MINI since the day it was announced. I collected hard copies of all the ads, brochures, and pictures I could find and put them in a binder. I pointed at MINIs any time I'd see one on the road. I dropped what I was doing to watch the TV ads. I read every MINI review article I could fine. And one day... my wish came true: I ordered a brand new, 2013 from Otto's MINI in Exton, PA! It had everything I wanted...
A 2013 Cooper S (and one of the last pre-facelifted models)
Gray with subtle, black stripes
Manual transmission
Upgraded audio with LCD screen
Piano black interior trim
Dual sunroof
JCW body kit
JCW wheels
JCW exhaust
GP rear diffuser
It was just beautiful. And I enjoyed the crap out of it. Then, everything changed... less than a year after taking ownership, I found out we found out we would be having twins (!?). And virtually overnight, it was decided that the MINI had to go, and we took out a lease on a Grand Cherokee. As it turned out, it was a good move, and the Cherokee was perfect for our new family. I missed the MINI, but life with twins was busy and amazing, and I didn't spend too much time looking back.
Now, my kids are 9 years old, and both my spouse and I work from home. Our main vehicle is a huge RAM 1500 that has more than enough space for my kids and everything we want to haul. We don't really need a second vehicle, except as a backup or to run the random errand. And all of the sudden, somehow, I'm now blessed to be in a position where I can afford to buy a used, MINI of roughly the same era as the one I gave up roughly 10 years ago.
And that got me thinking... where is the MINI I gave up when we had our twins? I hope it went to a good home. Maybe to someone on this forum, even? Might someone here know where it is and would the owner possibly be interested in selling it?
So, that's where I turn to you (and thank you for reading this long story). If anyone has seen this 2013 MINI Cooper S and/or might have information about the owner(s), I would LOVE to hear from you! If nothing else, I hope it's being taken care of and enjoyed often. But maybe, just maybe... it's also looking for a new home. If you've seen it, or have any information, please contact me. Thank you so much!
Oh she's GORGEOUS!
A belated - Congratulations for/with having twins.
Nonetheless - Bittersweet having to let this beautiful R56 go.
Hoping you find one that you will love as much as this one...That is to say; if you are not reunited with your long lost Mini.
Thanks so much! Here's hoping I can track her down... and if not, well, consider me looking for a 2nd-gen Cooper S if anyone is thinking of parting with theirs!
If you still have the VIN a carfax might show any recent places it was serviced and maybe one of the shops could pass along your contact info to the current owner.
