Car Feels Like It's "Holding Back"
Car Feels Like It's "Holding Back"
My 2022 Cooper S occasionally does something that is difficult to describe. After a 45 minute highway trip yesterday, I parked for about 20 minutes to shop, then on my short trip home (on a road with many lights) I noticed that every time I accelerated in 1st & 2nd (It's a Manual) the car seemed to be holding back and not properly accelerating. It has had less use than usual lately son I did push it a bit when entering the highway (maybe to 6800) but something definitely didn't "feel right". Sorry to be vague about this but that is the best I can do at the moment. I first noticed this sometime in September but not again until yesterday.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

My novice guess - Slipping belt?
Tensioner making any noise/rattling?
You may also want to do/have a compression check.
Just a thought.
EDIT: Yet another thought (perhaps a bit obvious but..) - Air filter, dirty injectors, or test fuel pressure at the rail?
