MC 40 Seats

Hi all - I have a 2004 MC40 whose front seats are looking very shabby. I talked with a local upholstery guy and he said it would be $5000! to replicate them. What other options are out there? Does anyone know of, for example, an online resource that could duplicate them? I assume they can't just be bought since they're so unusual.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. Thanks!

Look for a different upholstery guy. I can see those being a grand apiece but $5,000 -- no way.

They're not that unusual . . and do show up for sale from time to time

$5K sounds like he just didn’t want the job.

Most of the ones I’ve seen used are rather worn, but they do pop up on occasion. Keep a watch on Allmag auto parts. They’ve got a rear set for sale.

My Jag XF dash bubbled up (common problem). Upholstery shop wanted $2,200 to recover it which told me they either weren't interested in doing it or more likely were willing to bend me over if I insisted. I walked. Get three estimates. Five grand should get you a complete new interior including headliner.

Call these people they can typically do it for under $2k installed front and back. I've had them do two vehicles for me and have always been happy. These aren't seat covers, but are total replacement of seating material and the quality is better than anyhting OEM would have made.
