Mini 2 u

Hi fellow motorists!

Has anyone used the MINI 2 U service? The idea is simple. MINI will deliver a car TO (2) YO(U) for a 30 minute test drive, no salesman included.

This sounds awesome. I love shopping slightly questionable used car lots for this exact reason, they just toss you the keys and say "enjoy"! I honestly can't remember the last time I visited a dealership and the salesman knew more about a particular vehicle than I do, so having a Mini salesman in the car is a waste of everyone's time. (Ok maybe they know more about infotainment/tech BS because I don't care about that).

I still haven't driven a MT Gen3 Justa because I can never find time to get to the dealer before they sell. It took me over two years to finally get some seat time with a MT All4 Clubman and the salesman was crazy salty about not getting a sale out of the drive.

So what do you guys think, should I put in a request for the Justa? Is the Mini2U service as good as it sounds on paper?

TIA,
Ando

P.S. My searching skills are slightly questionable so I deeply apologize if I missed a thread about this somewhere.
*Oops, my "MINI 2 U" title got edited because it was all caps*

Wow the forum controllers don't know the difference between an Mini and a MINI!

Based on a web search, it appears to be a service some MINI dealers are trying. If you can't find one on a dealer's lot, I doubt they will have one to drive to your house.

Can't hurt to try as long as you are as willing to say no in your own driveway as you would be at the dealer's lot.

Ah, fair point. I checked again, it only let me select 2dr Hardtop Justa, no ability to specify transmission. They have none in stock either, but they do have a used vert Justa. I bet the employee that has to run it out to me wouldn't mind as long as I schedule a nice day. ;]

Another reason I like this idea is because I can pick the roads to test the vehicle on. The standard Mini sales loop is an arrow straight back road for warm up, freeway for a mile, turn around, freeway back to the dealer. No corners, all smooth pavement (that's saying a lot in MN!) One railroad crossing though. Not a great test of anything but road noise (yes the Gen3s are quite refined).
