purchase 06 to 08 automatic convertible?
hello, basically a classic mini guy but looking at buying a used convertible for my daughters, and wife, for a fun drive during the summer. none of them can or wants to learn a stick. what should i look for? any pitfalls to these years? thanks in advance, jim

Welcome!
If you want an auto, make sure you get an S with an actual auto, and not a regular Cooper with a CVT. Also, make sure the transmission has been serviced with at least one fluid and filter change, with additional fluid changes depending on the mileage as the Aisin auto can be very expensive when it has problems. Here's a guide with most of the normal issues to look out for:

There is a recent post here where the guy bought the the car and on the way home, kaput. The laws in his state means he has 2600 pound paperweight in his yard and is out the purchase price.
Had a PPI been performed, perhaps things would have been different.
and yes, no CVT. If there is not a hood scoop on the car, pass it by.
