Best Scanner?

My traction control light is on in my R52 and I would have to pay $85 to have a garage scan it to tell me what is wrong. Are there any scanners I can buy that will diagnose everything on the car and not just when the engine light is on?

The Schwaben scan tool from ECS Tuning is fabulous. It's $200 but worth it.

Has anyone used the Bluedriver scanner on their mini? Seems to have great reviews. I've always used icarsoft for my Volvo's and Mercedes but it seems the one for Minis isn't all that great?

Bit of a hijack but does the NT510 have the capability to programme a VIN into a module, i.e. I have replaced the SZL on my R57?

No problem, we found it to reset and reprogram early modules. But we have not tested it on the SZL. Some of the modules it could read but the reprogram function was not listed in the selectable functions. I know it can read most if not all modules and can test them if MINI programmed a test function. Like an on/off switch to see if a light bulb works.
