I hear a whirring in the area of my right rear wheel well occasionally (2013 Clubman, non-S). I notice it when I return home in the evening, it's very infrequent. From my research of other posts it sounds like it's the fuel pump but what I haven't learned from any of the posts is if this is normal or if it's something that is going to need to be fixed.

Can anyone advise me on this? I'm just about at 48,500 miles so am close to being out of warranty.

The rear pump will make some noise, what it does with the newer HPFP is prime itself when you open the door or unlock the car, its a short whirl then it stops.

If its the right rear it could also be normal from the leak Diagnosis pump which works with the EVAP system for gas tank fumes and pressure.
