2013 hatchback S verse 2016 S, or JCW

Hi gang-

I have a 2013 hatchback s, and I was looking to upgrade to the 2016 hatchback JCW, however, I don't experience the same-- thrust me in my seat--experience from the 2016 as I do in my 2013, why?
My car: 181HP@ 5500RPM, 177 ft-lb @ 1600RPM
JCP, 228@5200RPM, 262ft-lb@1250RPM
Intuitively, I would think the JCW specs would push me back in the seat more, and I cannot discount the reported measurements/specs, however, again, I don't get the same acceleration FEEL, WHY?

Cheers

Were you comparing auto transmissions or stick? If auto did you use sport mode? Big difference to me in feel and handling in that setting.

Turbo lag. The new cars don't have it, so there isn't a straight up kick you back moment, it's a much more mature kind of speed. But I can tell you the new cars are faster and much more fun around corners. I had a roadster s as a loaner, and it was quirky and fun, but it was not as fast as my car, an f56 S.

Hard to explain. I just took delivery on a 2016 JCW auto about a month ago. My wife has a 2012 MCS auto. When I drive hers you feel the acceleration to say 70-80 mph. When I drive the JCW, I look down at the speedo and say, Holy Crap, I'm doing 80. You just don't realize you're going as fast as indicated in the Gen 3 for some reason even though you might be actually going faster. It's very deceptive. Does that make any sense?

The new cars are much faster, almost frighteningly so. It is surprisingly easy to get to 80 and beyond without even realizing it. The cars are so quiet that the sensation of speed is somewhat subdued. Having driven both S and non-S versions of the F56, I can honestly say that it would be a close contest pitting the R56 S against the F56 non-S.
