New to MINI have questions...?????

Hi I am considering a new 2016 Clubman S awd as a replacement
For my 2013 BMW X1. Is Mini reliable. My last 3 bmw cars had zero problems
Also planing to custom order a car
How long does that take. My BMW cars took about 2 months.
Is the 2016 Clubman S a totally new car.
If so should I worry about first year problems
If anyone here owns a 2016 Clubman S. auto would love some input

Hello,

Some info here:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...6-clubman.html

Once in production it can take about 2 months. They are new so it might take a little longer. They just announced the ALL4 version, so it might be worth the wait.

Share the same engine as the F56 ( hardtop ) which has been good. I have sat in one and its super nice.

It's a Mini Cooper so you should always worry. You will blaze the trails for the rest of us. Thanks.

Partially kidding.

Yeah i have been reading up on Probs people have with Mini Coopers
Are the 3 rd Gen Cars which i asume the clubman is more reliable.
I am now scared to death to order a 2016 Clubman S All4
Please comments appreciated
I love the car but affraid that after 3-4 years and 60k miles it will fall apart.
Can anyone comment on Residual Value after 3-4 years
I have read some people loosing 30% in the first year in trade
I dont want to be upside down in my trade in 3-4 years
I have been told these cars extremly unreliable as bad as Land Rover and Fiat hence worth close to nothing in trade.
My last 4 cars i traded after3-4 years i was always coming out with cash in hand in the trade

The issue here is you have a large cross section of people coming from different cars, many people coming from entry level reliable cars consider mini very unreliable, I went from BMW to an F56 and so far I feel pretty confident about it.

The problem came when people who aren't really into cars bought the 2007-2008 models and ran them into the ground at BMW stupid service interval suggestions.

If you are happy with a BMW'S reliability than the MINI will be exactly the same. As it's a 2 series active touring anyway.

You cannot compare the new model to the 2nd Gen due to BMWs choice of using French engine designs with long service intervals.
