PPI Question - NYC Help

Hello

I'm about to check out a 2013 MCS in Long Island and I was thinking of doing a PPI on it. I haven't bought a car in forever so can someone walk me through what this entails? The car has an active warranty until Dec. 2016. Should I even get a PPI with an active Warranty?

Do I request a PPI after I've test-driven the car, and worked out the numbers with the dealer? Would you recommend a PPI on a 2013 MCS? CarFax report is mega clean and maint. has been done around the clock.

NYC Question - Any Tri-State people can recommend a mechanic to perform the PPI?

Any details and suggestions regarding PPI would be great.

Thanks guys
G

Yes, I still think a PPI would be a smart move just so you know what may or may not need fixing before you purchase it. It will give you an idea of what type of shape it is in underneath the cosmetics of it. It'll also give you an ease of mind knowing that it's in good working condition. Check out this website here to assist you with finding a MINI indy shop in your area.

If you get full service records and drive the heck out of the car over the first few months you could probably skip the ppi. Not all ppi's are created equally. Just because someone wrenches cars doesn't mean they know what to look for. I skipped doing one because I had more than a year left on the warranty and so far only minor issues, worst of which was Vanos solenoids.

Yes, some thing MINI does not cover like wear and tear. You can do a quick walk around, make a list and get an appointment after you buy to have it gone through at the dealership for any warranty repairs. Good insurance.
