Midwest Dealer Recommendation?

Hi All,

I'll be driving out to Louisville, KY to visit my relatives for xmas + new years. I live in MA, and wanted to get the car serviced before I head out.

So, I'm thinking of going to 1 of 3 dealers for service:

1. MINI of Louisville

2. MINI of Nashville

3. MINI of Cincinatti

Can anybody from the Midwest tell me which dealer's service dept. you like most, based on your own personal experience? I don't mind driving further to get good service. I'm a bit neurotic about maintaining my car well, and want to make sure my baby is in good hands

Thanks,

-Ryan

Call all 3 , who has the shortest time to get in. Around the holiday. Have a great trip.
Never been to those service sides, but have been in showrooms of all 3.

If you were neurotic about maintaining the car you wouldn't be waiting out that ridiculously long oil change interval.

Fair point. This is my first MINI, and I wanted to see how the OBC would adapt to my driving style. I figured that it would be requesting a change somewhere in the 7500 mile range, but I'm shocked that I'm sitting at 9,200 miles and it's still saying I have 3300 miles to go. That puts the first change at 10,500 miles (if I bring it in at the 2000 mile threshold, when it becomes "free").

It's fine for the service indicator to count down from 10,000 miles, but it should do so at a consistent rate. Instead, the rate fluctuates and lets you pass the supposed 10,000 mile maximum. Totally not safe for engine life!

Needless to say, I'll be changing every 5000-7500 miles in between the "free" changes that MINI gives.

If it really was unsafe for engine life, would the MFR spec it?
Unlikely they would want increased warranty payouts.....

9200 + 3300 = 12500 , which is way too long with these cars. My Vanos solenoid gave up it's life way early because of extended oil changes from mini and first owner.

Ok I see your 2000 math adjustment on second read.

Interesting what folks back east consider mid-west. Us who consider ourselves mid-west think of that other mid-west as being back east as well. Isn't 'mid-west' west of the Mississippi and east of the Rockies?

It seems like this thread has gotten a little off topic, and that's probably my fault for being too dramatic about the service interval. Sorry about that

I edited my original post so that it just gets to the point without talking about my frustration surrounding the service interval.

I would still love to hear people's comments on these 3 dealers if they have been there.

Thanks,

-Ryan
