Help! Help! Help!

My 2012 Countryman will not go in gear! I finally got it to go in gear but I have to reset the service light every time. Took to Dealership and they don't believe me that if I reset the service light it will go in gear. They say that there is a sticky Fluid under the great shift and showing must have been spilled. My windows are not working right and my car is stuttering....if I turn the car on and off while driving...a loud pop is heard and then she kicks in and is a road runner. But only if I reset....mini says won't cover. I think it's computer related. Anyone else?

sounds like something got spilled and is causing shorts in the electrics under the shifter ... that is not warranty related I'm sorry to say.

******
manual or auto?

I'm gonna guess auto . . .

+1 sounds like something was spilled on the electrical.

I'd pull the console up and see if I could clean up the goo that's probably there using warm water and contact cleaner

If you don't think you can do that yourself, I'd look for a trusted local mechanic .... there's nothing 'MINI specific' about this problem that I can see . . .
