turbo exhaust delete pipe.

I know you can purchase a turbo exhaust delete pipe from Amazon for $100. Has anyone just replaced the exhaust portion of the pipe with a 10" piece of aluminum piping? The clamps are all there to hold the exhaust portion in place. Would save $80-90 probably. Any thoughts?

Is this what you are talking about? If so it's very common. Use about 8 inches and the clamps that are already there. You can get a muffler shop to roll a bead on the ends so it won't come off.

Yes sir, that's it. What is the diameter of the pipe and where did you get it from?

2 inch OD.

I actually have an extra stainless one or an extra aluminum one if you're interested for say $8 for either one including shipping. They don't have the bead rolled on them though.

I just got a piece from autozone and made it a tad longer. And double clamps on it and no chance for it to slip loose. Spent $10 on everything.
