Sun shade for TOP of windscreen

I'm sure there's a name for them, but I can't find out what it is. I'm speaking of the strips that run across the top of the windscreen, usually about six inches deep. You see them on racing cars all the time. A search for "sun shades" seems to only turn up full window shades to be used when the car is parked.

I had one for my old BMW 2002 that read Bavarian Motor Works (in German). So I know they were available for street cars.

I find that I am getting a lot of sun glare coming in around the front visors and I think that one of those strips would be the answer, as well as looking good on the car.

I may have to fall back on getting the upper portion of the windscreen tinted, but if anyone knows a source for the racing-type shades, I'd appreciate a heads up.

These are usually referred to as racing sponsor's decals.

BMW CCA Club racing requires two of these, front and back, with title sponsor branding. Used to be TireRack's, now BimmerWorld's:

You can probably google and find all sorts of interesting decals:

A local printing shop can probably do one based on the graphics of your choice.

Whichever ones you choose to install, consider reviewing the following installation instructions:

On hubby's race car, we just layed black vinyl and xacto'ed around (the required windshield banner was not low enough to block the sun)
