93 to 91

So now I'm confused.

Does dropping from 93 to 91 octane on a justa really make a difference?

I can say this hesitation on take off for a microsecond I've been experiencing happens ONLY when the AC is on.

I figured, let me try 91 octane and see if that helps. Well, what I discovered is a difference in sound, but you be the judge.

Could this be because the MINI changed its timing based on the octane level it sees?

93 octane

91 octane

IAny feedback is always welcome. 😕

Sounds like during the 93 octane video the oil level is low in the car. I do notice a difference with 93 octane in the hot summers here, +100 degrees when running the A/C - I get no ping at all. With 91 octane I get a little sometimes on hard acceleration, with anything less I definitely hear pre-detonation. More power? Less hesitation? Not really.

I have been wondering about those boxes to adjust the electronic "gas" pedal (SprintBooster, et al), whether that might take that hesitation out.

So maybe I had some "bad gas" because here's Zippy with 93 Octane after a 40 mile hwy trip back home. Parked in Publix parking lot waiting for my wife to come out.

1st. Full open bonnet

2nd. Closed bonnet
I could barely hear her except when the cooling fan came on.

Thoughts anyone?
