The TireRack survey that includes the Conti DWS is the one for ultra high performance all seasons, and the DWS is at the top (as in #1): http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...jsp?type=UHPAS

From what's been said so far I don;t think they tires themselves are the full reason for your problems. They are not unreasonably old and its not as thought they have been baked by constant sunshine and high ambient temperatures in their 3 year life.

Have you checked, adjust tire pressures ?

Greasy roads and a heavy right foot at this time of year arent a good combo.

Better tires would be the first thing to do. Second, remember that water on the road makes things slick. Third, remember that the first number of rains are the worst as they bring up the oils and contaminants from the asphalt and it takes awhile for most of this to get washed away. And before it does mostly get washed away it will often settle on the surface of the road making it even more slippery then usual. Finally, a limited slip differential helps a lot by distributing the power through two tires instead of one.

1.) the guy lives in Seattle, it always rains.

2.) most of his problem is a lack of a LSD. That coupled with a heavy right foot when he knows it's slick.
