Low mileage R53

Hello to all! My second query here!

I am also looking for a low-mileage R53 MCS coupe to toy with. I have found a couple of '03s with approx 38K miles each and almost all factory options.

Is there anything I should look at on a low-mileage car that may need replacing due to low use or just the fact that it's an 11 year old car...besides the obvious belts/hoses/tune up? I know things age/crack/etc and was wondering if I should check a anything special.

Big disparity in price between the two...$7300 for one in British Racing Green Metallic with a faulty nav unit (dealer wants to sell as-is), and $11000 for one in Indi Blue Metallic owned by a dealership owner's wife and has factory driving lights on the grill, factory-added gauges below the switch pod (ala the 2004 MC40) and JCW front/rear bumper covers and side skirts. No engine mods I know of but waiting on pics for confirmation )

Any thoughts are appreciated.

mostly look for thigns 11 years old, i picked mine up nearly two years ago with 27k and i made sure everything was up to par. rides real good =)

things do happen to cars if they are not properly treated for over extended periods of time, or they just didnt drive it much, possibly every other weekend for a cruise around the coast

Look closely....
I would rather get a 100,000 mile driver than a car with only 35,000 miles that were mostly track and driving to and from the track, with redline shifts EVERY TIME....
So do your due dillagance....some items, like coolant/brake flushes are likely far overdue, and tires could be downright dangerous if OEM.....not the end of the world, but a consideration. So look to see if the car has signs as to WHY it is such low miles...if it was a 3rd car, etc , and just used for weekend jaunts, like many ragtops, fine....but if you notice it has a BIG BRAK KIT (bbk), lots of clutch pedal wear, new brake and tires, and marks from stickers or roll cages...watch out!!

The one with the nav unit is an instant skip it. The nav units were pretty much junk when new and the only fix is having a speedometer in it’s place.

I think low miles helps cosmetics, but there still a load of other **** that is ready to perish at a moments notice.
