Extended Warranty (Dead Horse, I Know)
Extended Warranty (Dead Horse, I Know)
I posted this in the R60 forum, but figured it might get more traffic here after thinking about it. I know its been beat to death, So I am about to trade off Elvis (2011 CPO mini cooper) for a 2012 Mini Countryman S model Auto with 50k on the clock that was pretty well taken care of. I would be daily driving it on highway mainly for about 15-20k a year with multiple road trips of 1200 miles or more a year.. After reading all of the horror stories, Any purchase a MINI Extended Warranty?
I usually believe that extended warranties are like snake oil, but in the case of the S motors and all that can go wrong, one would think it might be a good idea to get one, yes?
Im buying the countryman from a BMW dealer, so I dont think they can CPO it can they?
Ive got 2k set aside in a "car fund" account that I regulary contribute to for mods, repairs, tires etc...I wonder if that would be enough to cover any major happenings?

Ya, I have a 2012 MCS that has about 1 year of factory warranty left. If I decide to keep the car past the end of warranty, I'll be getting a third party extended warranty. Am amazed that a relatively minor repair on a Mini can easily go past $1,000.
