Need to change battery on my 2008 RS52 Mini Cooper S Convertible
Hi Community!
I need to change battery on my 2008 RS52 Mini Cooper S Convertible! I can't seem to remove the battery cover? I removed the first two front screws but not sure how to remove the rest? Do I have to remove all the seals and the backing? Not sure if I should go ahead and remove everything? Hoping someone knows an easier way or the correct way to remove the battery cover?
Thanks in advance!
Nel

Yes it seems that way. Doesn't seem difficult if at least I had the service manual. I got the cover loose but seems there a few more screws I can't reach. May need a special tool or just know how to pull the cover off with some force?

Someone else told me that they had to enter new info into the computer when they changed the battery. The dealer never mentioned anything about this. I think that I just paid the BMW price for the battery.
I had few options available to me at that time...I was at the dealer getting other maintenance done and I was informed that the battery was bad. And a dead battery in the middle of winter is not a good thing.

No screws required. Just pull and the junk out of your turn, and lift up the carpet and you'll see it. Very easy.
And if you can find a temporary 12 volt power source and attach it to the terminals under the engine hood, you'll maintain voltage in your electrical system while you swap batteries and you'll not loose, for instance, your radio programming and other things.
