What would YOU do???
It depends. If you still want a Paceman, just bring the car with you. Doesn't make sense to lose money and buy it twice. The hard reality is new cars depreciate so much once you take delivery. Cut your losses now or keep it for the long haul.
Hi all!
Thanks for continuing support!
I am kind of leaning more toward selling it...at this point...
Tiny tiny tiny part of me do want to keep the car...after all, I liked enough
to purchase it in the first place!
But the hardest thing is to figure out if it will be reliable in the
next 3 or more years...don't really want to spend lots and lots of $$ for repairs
and things...or be stranded in a strange place...
Sooooooo hard to weigh both pros and cons for this!!!!!

Although I recommend you sell I can also understand a desire to take it with you.
I am a little confused from your comments as to whether the MINI would be a second car that you would be taking. If so I recommend even more that you sell it. One car should be enough. Germany has an excellent public transportation system.
Keep in mind that parking spots in major cities can be very expensive.
If you decide to take it:
I don't think reliability would be too huge a concern. Have it checked out thoroughly and serviced.
It shouldn't be very hard to find a good independent mechanic in Germany that understands MINI's. Most MINI parts are sourced from Europe.
There is good chance your German PCS location will have an auto hobby shop.
Get yourself a service manual for taking care of the basics.
Has your new duty station assigned you a sponsor? Quiz him out about what people there recommend you do.

Thank you all for chiming in.
We came to realize that if it were little bit later than now,
because of the payment, we could come to a conclusion to
sell it without question...but since we are looking at loosing $,
we have harder time to convince ourselves...
I agree, living with one car is not the end of the world!
(MINI would be our second car)
As some had suggested, we will be taking advantage of
military sales program when we leave...hopefully!
Thanks everyone!
