Easily a minimum of 10 to 15 a day and surprisingly a LOT of countrymen. My next door neighbor has a r-56 and there is another r-53 three houses down from him . I live in the San fernando Valley CA area . I suppose having eight dealerships within 30 miles of my home has something to do with it .

Probably a dozen a day in Los Angeles (San Gabriel Valley) during my average driving day of about 15 miles. On work days it's much more as I have a 25 mile each way commute.

After saying that I might see 1-2 MINIs per week, yesterday, while driving my wife's Kia Sorento, I saw SIX within 12 miles of my house! If I'd been driving my MCS, I would have waved. :-/

About 8 to 10 on my daily commute. There are tons of MINIs here in Miami, and seems like 90% are 2nd gen non-S Coopers driven by females, and 10% are Cooper S Countryman.

MINI's

I live in a town of 100K on the central coast of Cali. I easily see 5 or 6 a day. However I've never seen another JCW of any model in the wild other than my 2013 R56 JCW.

I see a ton because I drive by the dealership on my way to and from work. I see so many new and old variations this way it's pretty cool.

I was thinking...I could test drive one and rob a nearby bank while testing, go back to the dealership, and then leave in my own Mini. Oh the confusion...Wait, that's actually a pretty good plan! My mind goes to scary places sometimes. Now I just need to figure out my prison name.

MINI saturation in San Francisco

Tonight, I counted during the evening walk with my dog. In 20 minutes, we walked past 11 parked MINI. Also 3 Fiat 500 and 2 Smart Cars. This is in the Russian Hill area of San Francisco. Most of these are vehicles that live in the neighborhood and I've seen regularly.

I don't blame all those people who drive MINIs, Fiats, and Smart cars in SF. That city is so expensive and gas too, I'd buy all three to save some MPGs lol

The real motivation to get a MINI, Fiat or Smart Car here isn't expenses, it is parking. Having a small car is a genuine advantage to finding street parking.

I would say that and expenses, from what friends told me while I was there. But regardless, makes me happy I live in the Midwest and only see 1-3 MINIs a day. I noticed I'd see 7-10 in a day there!

Here in Fairfield County Connecticut I see at least a dozen a day, sometimes it seems closer to two dozen. They are pretty darn popular around here.

Owned Petra two years. Back then maybe two or three in area, today parked next to two in local Walmart. See two or three everyday and not the same ones. Car dealerships all seem to have a Fiat used for sale, and can't seem to sell. But Mini on lots maybe a week and then sold.

I see around 5 MINIs daily on my drive to work and back home (Miami, FL), and if I see an open space next to one I park right next to them .

To many to count on a daily basis.

I don't see to many R50s or R58s, but a lot of R53's, R55s and R56s. I see almost as many Countryman as the others. (is the Countryman MINI's version of the Porsche Cayenne?)

I also now see about 2 R59 Roadsters each day, and I even see my twin every now and then.

At least my old 2006 MCS Checkmate was rarely seen on the road.

The truly odd one out is the Paceman. I still do a double take when I see one of those in the wild.

btw - I don't distinguish between the convertible and the R53/56. Sorry ;-)

Although my neighborhood is overrun with MINIs (see my post #37), I have only seen 2 Paceman, ever.

MINI is having a very hard time selling the Paceman. On average, they sit on dealer lots for over 4 months:

It's over priced. Base price is more then Countryman.

I usually see 3 MINIs and not the same ones on my 25 minute ride home each day..
