First maintenance of MINI COOPER D
First maintenance of MINI COOPER D
Hi all,
My MINI COOPER D is two years old and has 27,000KM. My MINI told gave me a light to get a first service at 25,000KM, so I am a bit overdue.
I went to BMW garage and they said I need a big maintenance and change breaks discs (they said it without checking the actual brakes) and that it will cost 450EUR.
Some other garage said they can do it for 250EUR (because it's also a big garage).
However, another garage said they can do it for 128EUR and that a big maintenance should be only on 40,000KM, not now, so it's a smaller maintenance. They said that these are the official instructions of BMW.
My questions are:
1. For 27,000KM is it a big or a small maintenance?
2. Is it ok that I never changed oil before?
3. Is it really possible that i need to change brakes discs so fast?
Thanks!

Never heard of big or small maintenance as most items are condition based (mileage (kilomilage?)). We no not have the diesel engines in the US or Canada so I am not sure of the service interval but that seems very long for an oil change. At a minimum it needs to be done once per year or every 5-10k miles on a gas motor. What does your manual say to do for service? Check your brakes yourself and see how much pad is left and how much rotor is left too.
