Destiny and chipped paint
Destiny and chipped paint
During a visit to our local Costco, I noticed at the checkout that Premium Gas prices were down to $3.32 a gallon. Finally! Prices were becoming reasonable again I thought.
So, after paying and loading up my new Mini S, I figured I'd stop and get some gas at their station, even tho I had a little more than half a tank still.
It was Sunday, late afternoon and it wasn't busy at all, so I pulled directly up to a pump on my drivers side and opened the door to hop out. Whooosh! The wind pulled the door from my hands and BAM, hit directly into the brick columns that hold up the roofline of the station. I could've yelped with pain as I heard the loud thunk and scrape the door made. I quickly looked at the door to see the paint had chipped down to the white undercoating of the Chile Red color. Small chips to be sure, but, the first of any kind of "damage" this new Mini had sustained. A painful and hurtful feeling swept over me....its only a car, but, sheesh, I did it to myself! Had someone else left me dented in a parking lot or traffic accident, at least I wouldn't feel this way about it, I thought.
So I went home and polished it, rubbed and rubbed, and now it doesn't look THAT bad, but of course I know its there now. If only I hadn't gone to top off my tank! I could've gotten gas some other time this week, especially on a less windy day!
So does anyone else have a story of Destiny and their Mini? Doesn't have to be a bad destiny, like I had. Perhaps a positive note to make me feel better. lol. Anyway, that's my story.

There is a little old lady, who is also a cancer survivor, and she put my first ding in my door. It just killed me, I told her to mark the date in her calendar and I would let her know the significance of it when I could...
Even worse is Costco gas, you're not going to like what it'll do to your injectors down the road. I was a Costco gas user also, for only 4 months.
