Rent a MINI in Maui?
Rent a MINI in Maui?
Hey all.
I know there's an old thread somewhere about it but I figured I'd try a new one. Is anyone familiar with any company that might rent a MINI in Maui? I know they're available on Oahu. But I can't find anything for Maui.
Thanks!

Could you rent in Oahu and take a ferry? There does actually seem to be a ferry: http://www.oahutomaui.com

I spend summers on Kauai, there are a couple of mini's on island. Was surprised, is a long ways to a mini dealer. Also, there are no ferrys between the larger islands, too much distance and rough seas..
Doin' the Road to Hana in a Mini would be awesome! Just an idea, but maybe you could look through Craigs List for dealers with Minis? I haven't tried this before, but they might not mind renting it out to make a few bucks before it sells.
Another idea, and you may have already done this, but there is a Mini club in Hawaii. Maybe they could point you in the right direction?

I was in Maui last month, and could not find anywhere to rent a MINI.
On a semi-unrelated note, if you do the Road to Hana, drive the whole way around the island. Do not take the same way back as you take to get there. Rental agreements generally "prohibit" you from doing it, but there is no reason you can't. It's 90% paved, and no where on the main road is there a place where it seems like you need 4wd. Anyway, IMO, that side of Haleakala is the most beautiful side of the island.
And check out Waipoli Road. It is not heavily traveled, and a ton of fun. It starts a short distance from the Haleakala Highway.
