BMW Dealer & Roadside Assistance Questions

My wife and I recently completed a long cross country trip in our '12 MCS. We took a lot of back roads and were in some very remote areas, a LONG ways from a mini dealer. So, a couple of questions -

1) We still have Mini Roadside Assistance. Just what does that cover? Will they come get you in the middle of nowhere and haul your Mini 500 miles to the nearest Mini dealer? Anyone mind sharing their Mini Roadside Assistance story?

2) If a Mini dealer is a long ways away, will a BMW dealer work on a Mini?

Fortunately, no problems on our trip otherwise I wouldn't be asking. Thx

It doesn't matter where you are they will put it on a rollback to the

nearest MINI dealer but not a BMW dealer.

I think MINI Roadside Assistance will cover any tow under 100 miles. You have to pay for anything over that.

Not sure where that number came from. Do you have any supporting documentation? I thought part of having a car manufacturer and roadside service is that if you say you will take car of the customer, you will. That would suck if you get stuck far away from a dealer.

My manual only says this:
"Roadside Assistance
Roadside Assistance is available by phone 24
hours a day in many countries. You can receive
assistance there in the event of an emergency.
Phone numbers for Roadside Assistance are
listed in the Contact brochure."

I had read that in the manual as well, not much information. Which as the OP, was the reason I posed the question.

We did call the number once as we had a question about the mini, the nice lady on the other end was very helpful. I'll call the number again and ask for additional info on what they will provide.
