skid plate question - thickness?

skid plate question - thickness?
For the folks with skid plates, is the thickness sufficient? Anyone put a major dent or gouge into one? Just asking since none of the manufacturers I was looking at specify how thick the plate is.
I've seen:
Cobalt (which doesn't actually seem to be for sale anywhere
Rennline (looks nice but the top end of the market)
ULTRIK (steel on mini mania)
The reviews I've seen have generally good for all products, just looking for a little more info.
