Heated Mirrors

Hi everyone,

I have a 2008 FJCW MINI, and live in the tropics north of Cairns in Australia. I took the car up the Gillies range which is 58 fantastic winding K's each way, of mountain road. While driving, it was cold 8 degrees C. outside. The side mirrors fogged up, and were impossible to see anything in. Not that anything was behind me! I was under the impression that they were heated mirrors. If so, how do I turn the heating element on?? They are power mirrors, but I don't think they are folding.

Thanks,

Ken

Heated Mirrors

I believe they come on at 15 degrees C. You can't manually turn them on. I wish you could. It all works based on outside temperature.

Thanks for the information. The outside temp said 8 C, so they might not be working. I will investigate further. They have probably never had to work before, as the average temp here is 27 C

Cheers,

Ken

Hi mudnut call a dealer give them your VIN they can bring your car up on the computer and tell you what factory accessories are installed. When I bought mine I did just that to check the car was as advertised and no I didn't get heated mirrors, properly because it doesn't get that cold in Oz.
